A downloadable game for Windows

A Mage's Way is a meta RPGmaker adventure game with an emphasis on strategy and story telling.

The story:
Centuries ago, there was once a nation called Galavaria. A nation known as the centerpiece for Art, Philosophy, and peace. Where mage and mankind lived together in harmony. But those days have long since past. Now, mages live far from the capital city, in exile. Breaking that exile is a grievous offense, punishable by death. You play as Edmund, a kind, yet childish mage who lives with his clan. But when the grandmaster of his clan grows mysteriously ill, Edmund embarks on adventure into Galavaria to find the cure.
But that is only one side of the story
You also play as Eddie, an independent game developer who is making an action RPG, A Mage's Way. On the other side of Eddie, is his long time friend, Shane. Shane is a producer from a big studio who is very supportive of Eddie's creative ventures. But that changes after Shane tells Eddie to give up on his dreams and ambitions. Eddie then embarks on an adventure to find out what has caused Shane's change of disposition, and learn more about himself along the way.

The gameplay:
A Mage's Way uses turn based combat, with a slight strategic twist. Skills have a chance to inflict elemental status effects, that interact with one another. (Attacking an enemy with wind while they burn will deal more damage, etc.) Using these elemental combos, and creating your ideal build is key to thriving in Galavaria.
But that is only one side of the story
While playing as Eddie, you can come across moments to gain inspiration. Completing side quests, doing alternate routes, and finding items can change how the game plays. From unlocking rare items, to completely changing the dungeon for that chapter!

Some extra context: A Mage's Way was a story I wrote when I was in high school. Being about how real life can impact the creative process. Then in 2019, when I was in college, I picked up RPGmaker to turn the story into a game. After 2 and a half years later, I noticed that I became burned out and decided to move on. So I finished what I had and made the game into this demo.
This demo takes ~6 hours for full completion in all story routes and optional content, and ~3 hours for just the story alone.

This is my first game and there is more to come; I hope you enjoy the demo for A Mage's Way!
